Travel Insurance FAQs
Do I need travel insurance if I’m travelling within Canada?
Your provincial health plan generally covers basic medical care in other provinces, but not every cost, such as some ambulance or prescription expenses. No health plan covers trip cancellation or interruption, so if you’ve prepaid for a trip, insurance protects that investment.
Doesn’t my credit card already cover me?
Many cards include some travel coverage, but limits, trip length, age restrictions and whether you charged the trip to the card all affect what’s included. It’s worth checking the details before you rely on it, and I’m happy to help you compare.
When should I buy travel insurance?
Soon after you book. Cancellation coverage applies to reasons that come up after you buy your policy, so buying early gives you the most protection.
Can I buy coverage for family visiting me in Canada?
Yes. Visitors to Canada plans cover emergency medical care for family and friends visiting from abroad. If you need coverage for a super visa application, let me know and I can help you find a plan that meets the requirements.
